Reflections on Vlad

I've been thinking some strange thoughts as I write DP fanfiction. The way a lot of people who like Vlad portray him a certain way. Vlad, in a sense, reminds me of my parents, which from a scholarly point of veiw makes sense-his character has elements of the Father archetype in Jungian philosophy. He more specifically reminds me of my mother before her near-fatal mugging: charming, ambitious, a bit pretentious and a volitile temper. Yet, his looks and reactions to people around him bring my dad to mind. Maybe I've just been putting too much into it... yet I'm still rather attracted to his character.


Dammit, Freud really was right.
